The purpose of this study is to get a better understanding of the opinions of people with genital herpes – either genital HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus-1) or genital HSV-2 (Herpes Simplex Virus-2) infection about studies to cure genital herpes.
HSV Cure studies are a new area of research that will attempt to remove the herpes simplex virus from the body, or to completely inactivate it. At this point, these studies are still being conducted in the laboratory. However, in the future, these studies may involve laboratory animals, and eventually, people. The goal of this survey is to understand whether people with genital herpes would be willing to participate in the early studies of new treatments that may result in a cure.
The web-based survey should take you approximately 10 – 15 minutes to complete. Please complete the survey in one sitting. We ask that you only complete this survey once. This survey is entirely anonymous; therefore your responses will not be linked to you in any way. Your participation is voluntary and you may choose to stop the survey at any time.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact the Virology Research Clinic at (206) 520-4340 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, please call the University of Washington Human Subjects Division at (206) 543-0098.
